Filipina Chosen in 2009 American Psychiatric Nurses Association Janssen Student Scholars
The Philippine Embassy in Washington reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Melanie Singh, a Filipina, has been chosen as one of the 2009 American Psychiatric Nurses Association Janssen Student Scholars.
In a letter addressed to Ms. Singh, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa extended his congratulatory remarks and emphasized that such honor reflects highly of her academic performance and professional potential.
“The scholarship award likewise underscores your exceptional ability to maintain your deep socio-civic and cultural involvement, particularly in promoting your Filipino heritage, at Catholic University of America and throughout the District 6 membership,” Ambassador Gaa stated in his letter.
The American Psychiatric Nurses Association Janssen Student Scholarship Program is a national scholarship awarded to only fifteen undergraduate and fifteen graduate nursing students interested in psychiatric mental health nursing.
